Legal Representation
Applying for Social Security and SSI disability benefits can be an overwhelming
and arduous process for a person with disabling physical or mental impairments.
For this reason, many claimants choose to be represented. Statistics
show that legal representation can significantly increase the chances of
a favorable outcome.
Through our staff attorneys and legal support staff, The Hawkins Center
provides representation at Social Security administrative law hearings,
the initial stages of the claims process, and in Federal Court. We
also represent claimants who have been terminated from benefits or are
at risk of termination, and claimants who are assessed overpayments.
Legal fees for representation are based on a percentage of the claimant’s
recovery and are paid only if the client recovers benefits. Many
cases are handled for low or no fees. The Hawkins Center is self-supporting
based on the fees earned from representation.
Legal representation is also available in Spanish.
