Summer Law Clerks
Every year, The Hawkins Center employs law students as summer law clerks.
This program provides law students with an opportunity to gain expertise
with disability law in a non-profit sector. The Summer Law Clerks enable
The Hawkins Center to provide additional services to our clients. Summer
Law Clerk projects have included:
-
researching and writing memoranda on disability law and benefits issues;
-
advocating for and representing clients at administrative law hearings;
-
providing assistance and advocacy to clients with other benefits programs;
and
-
coordinating services between The Hawkins Center, medical providers, and
other community organizations.
Summer Law Clerks are typically selected early in the year, and work from
June through August.
